This is why I don't bother with MMO's, way too much of a time sink, they can be fun at first but then it's just tanky enemies, ridiculous grind, meta chasing nonsense and repetitive bore fests just for marginally better "loot" on a scale with no end. They have their fans and more power to them but God that just sounds miserable to me.

I watched maybe 1-2 parts of Jon's playthrough, but I had already sunk 91 hours into my own playthrough and I think came to all of the same conclusions as Jon: "I had a nice enough time playing it once, but I'm not sure I want to come back to it" I still play Fallout 4 and Skyrim at least once a year. I don't foresee myself installing Starfield again. I just recently saw the DLC trailer, and it looked like a completely different game made by a different studio on a different engine. Maybe if they had put some of that effort into the base game, people wouldn't be commenting "Too little, too late" on the trailer.

I felt your pain as I was watching you . All the solution to the story line seam to be , kill an unrelenting number of tankie enemy. Absolute no solution that involved , lock picking , sneaking , hacking , speak , searching and finding clues . No!

Though "Contextual Ammo drops" (ammo dropping based on your gun) is helpful, you still need specific builds to deal with the economy. Gatling is probably the best in that regard because ammo drops like it would for a minigun, but gatlings use far less, meaning you're always gaining more.

I agree with your answer to the opening question, tho I would take it a bit further - 76 is just not really a Fallout game, and people should not expect it to work like one, despite the name and setting. It's like a spinoff using a popular brand name to get more money. And I think it's not a bad game at all (currently), when treated this way. Just a bad Fallout I'm a new player to 76, only started a bit after the show aired (although I did try playing it at least once in the past, but this broken mess of code just refused to work on my pc and support could not help). I also watched pretty much all of your videos from it. This game now is very different to what it was back when you started (and even Wastelanders). Many people speak about meta, but it's absolutely not necessary - you don't have to be op strong and melt everything in miliseconds, this game is easy and all weapon classes are valid, even if some objectively much stronger than others. But your build is simply bad - very "falloutish", which doesn't work in this nonFallout-Fallout game. You need to specialise into specific weapons, get some solid legendary gear (a lot of your viewers would happily give you some), get more mutations, use legendary perks and your 350 perk points to upgrade them, create a specific crafting and playing builds (now you can freely change SPECIAL and have two build slots unlocked by default) to not waste points having perks like ammosmith constantly equipped. This might sound like a lot, but it really isn't - making a meta build involves a lot of grind, but optimising a casual build over level 50 is super easy. I myself changed a playstyle a few times, still didn't even try bloodied (feels like too much of a hassle), and currently running my own pve build in power armor with .50 cal machinegun. Maybe I don't destroy enemies as fast as I could, but I'm definitely not struggling like you did here. Also, ammo crafting is super easy, just loot what you need and then scrap and craft with proper perks

The funny thing about the Bloodied Legendary effect is it CAN spawn on guns in 76. This along with 76's many other broken things makes running around with rads taking up your entire health bar one of the best strategies. Combined with unyielding and all the mutations you can get you can just sit right next to enemies while shoving a giant gun in their face. It's good fun for a bit but after a while gets incredibly boring, so fallout 76 in a nutshell.

This game really isn't worth it. I'm surprised it's going "strong". Just shows how much money the fan base dumps into it.

For all you dummies who wonder why Bethesda isn't working real hard on Fallout 5, this is why. F 76 content is exactly the same as F4/5 content and they only have so many programmers to do the work. Sorry but that's just how it is.

Jon, in regards to BADTFL SS2 holotape has options to revert buildings back to their normal state and vice versa. Otherwise there is usually an intercom outside that does the same thing.

Even if he fixes his build, he’ll still have to grind weapons with legendary effects, grind for new armor, grind grind grind. Grind is not fun for a fallout game, let alone for one that doesn’t like casual players.

Finally caught up on the backlog. Now I have no excuse to postponing my personal playthrough of SS2

I totally agree with how everything is a bullet sponge, and for me personally, that is why I don't play the game. If it were a single game, I could at least alter the difficulty to make it playable ~for me~ but since it's for every player, there is no way for me to tailor my experience to make things easier so that I can still participate in the lore and the world building. I play games to escape, not to shoot and loot and only spec into a few "solid" builds (i.e. boring, heavy-centric builds). What is the point of all of those cards if only certain builds are "viable"? When I do play this game, I realize that I don't really like the game, because I spend most of my time trying to AVOID the gameplay (MMO-inspired dungeons, world "events", etc), and watching you play just reminds of that fact. This game lacks any clear identity outside of another loot-and-shoot zombie survival game packaged with Fallout-inspired lore.

76 wasn't made for Fallout fans--but for online players. It's annoying. I really wanted to love 76, but it's just so damn disappointing.

Play in a private server next time and fix your "build" and you will enjoy it much more. Questing is best done in private servers

Survival mode should let you fast travel between the major cities and settlements you have supply lines hooked up to. That would make it the definitive way to play.

Ah yes, I can see that 76 still isn't worth the time, neither mechanically nor narratively.

Honestly, 60 hours in a game is fine. Thats all I played on Starfield.

Hey Jon, I haven’t finished the video yet, but you often mention how enemies feel like tanks in Fallout 76. While it is true enemies can often feel like damage sponges, I believe your lack of specialization is also to blame. At 00:02:36 you mention how you are very good with shotguns and handguns. You only have rank one of each of the damage perk cards equipped though. You essentially have the equivalent of a single max ranked card. A level four character could easily have the same amount of damage boosting perks as you. The enemies are being scaled to you with the expectation that you have also invested in these areas to match them. Since you have not invested into combat, everything will be far more tank-like than they are designed to be. My goal is not to be critical of your playstyle and claim everything you are doing is wrong. I simply wanted to expand upon something you frequently comment on. If you are interested in gameplay suggestions though, then I would recommend swapping out some of the perk cards you have for crafting with damage perks and simply put the crafting perks back on when you need them. I believe they have made the system much easier to do this with loadouts and movable special points since your main time in the game.

I don’t think the series is completed until the Railroad is wiped out. I mean, the Brotherhood was at peace with the Minutemen and Jon picked a fight to wipe them out. The Railroad is hostile and will shoot Jon on sight and were left alone. We need a second epilogue to wipe out the Railroad.

Spent years and untold expense to turn Fo4 into a vacant pvp area shooter, then spend more time and even more money trying to turn it back into a semblance of a fallout game again. It's better, but from what I see here it's still not worth the $100.
